Victoria Bennett
I would like to introduce you to our Parliamentary Candidate for South Ribble. Veronica has taken a keen interest in what goes on in South Ribble and I would bet she has already been here more times than our incumbent MP who lives in Hampshire.
Those colleagues who attended the selection meeting were delighted that Veronica Bennett had been chosen to be South Ribble Labour Party’s candidate for the 2015 Parliamentary election.
Veronica has worked in a variety of jobs in the private and voluntary sector, from a consultancy business to a small farm. She has worked in nearby Maghull for the last three years, as a senior political caseworker, where she works closely with businesses, government departments and ministers to fight for local communities locally and in Westminster.
South Ribble Labour Group Leader, Matthew Tomlinson, said “Veronica is a very impressive young woman who has a track record of speaking out on Labour values and supporting people when they need it. I am convinced she will be an excellent MP for the people of South Ribble.”
All members will get the opportunity to meet Veronica over the coming weeks either at party meetings or as she calls to meet members personally.
Remember - this is the start of the campaign to return a Labour MP for South Ribble and that fight-back will require the support of everyone.
I have already been out with Veronica introducing her to Penwortham, last Sunday we were around the Factory Lane area in Middleforth.
Keep an eye on this page for updates and links, you may also want to contact Veronica or South Ribble Labour.
If you have any questions you would like to ask Veronica, or something you would like her to look at, email Veronica
